Mar 07, 2004 · In the CEMA Belt Conveyor for Bulk Materials, 5th edition, page 66, described that there are two type of Terminal Pulley Position to transition idler, i.e. HALF TROUGH and FULL TROUGH. The book does not explain the difference of appliion of each type. So, I''d like to know when we must use half trough and when we use full trough?

Pulley assemblies complete with pulley, shaft, and bearings. Belting, one roll and two splice kits, minimum. Idlers, carrying and return. Sections. The number of sections dividing an overland belt conveyor are greatly influenced by the topography, standardization, and changes in direction of the right of way, and should be kept to a minimum.

Inlcine conveyor has cwt of 3500 lbs, tripper is mechanical cwt. Lagging is not wearing, only pulley cover of each belt. Each of these pulleys has a crowned face that is flat in the center and tapered on both ends, giving it a trapezoidal shape. Crownedface pulleys maintain the position of the conveyor belt better than straightface pulleys once a conveyor belt is aligned and installed on the pulley.

Crowned Pulleys — Which Option is Right for You? The purpose of a crowned pulley (or tapered pulley) is to assist with belt tracking. In most operating conditions, a belt will follow the path of highest tension.
A train system was replaced with a chain of belt conveyors. The main conveyors at this project are the tunnel conveyor PC 2 and the overland conveyor PC 3. Tunnel conveyor PC 2. With 16,820 m pulley center distance and 471 m lift this conveyor is still one of the largest conveyors worldwide.
When reducing counter weight to relax conveyor belts in concave curves or just to get the proper sag on rollers for tracking, it is imperative that the drive pulleys on the conveyor be lagged with a 60 durometer rubber material to prevent slippage of the conveyor belt on the drive pulley.
Bryant Products has the answers to your conveyor component design problems and needs. If you are looking for superior designs for the roller, pulley, takeup,

common belt conveyor profiles and tensions. For simplifiion, the text and diagrams in this chapter are principally concerned with vertical curves on the carrying run of the belt conveyor. Concave Vertical Curves A conveyor belt is said to pass through a concave vertical curve when the center of curvature lies above the belt. (See Figure 9.1.)
History. The mechanical belt drive, using a pulley machine, was first mentioned in the text the Dictionary of Local Expressions by the Han Dynasty philosopher, poet, and politician Yang Xiong (53–18 BC) in 15 BC, used for a quilling machine that wound silk fibers on to bobbins for weavers'' shuttles. The belt drive is an essential component to the invention of the spinning wheel.
Roller conveyors can move light to heavy loads and support loads with rimmed or uneven bottoms. Ball transfer conveyors let loads move in all directions on the conveyor. They are often installed at points along a conveyor line where loads need to change direction, move to an adjacent conveyor, or be rotated or positioned during conveying.

#3 Conveyor Belt Tracking Guide BASIC RULES I. The basic, and primary rule of tracking a conveyor belt is simply "THE BELT MOVES TOWARD THAT END OF THE ROLL IT CONTACTS FIRST." II. The conveyor structure must be "TRUE" (relative to centerline) and LEVEL (side to side).
Belt Conveyor is a friction drive conveyor transported materials continuously. Belt conveyor machine comprises the rack, conveyor belt, pulley, rollers, tensioning devices, driving unit and other components. It not only conveys material, but also can cooperate with various industrial equipments to form a
